NEA FUNDING SIGNED AND SEALED!
Washington, DC (January 27, 2026) – Last Friday, the President signed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, including $207 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The bill, signed into law today, rejects calls to eliminate or cut funding for America’s arts programs.
“Maintaining federal funding for the National Endowment for the Arts is the very least we can do to ensure access to the arts for all Americans,” said Tim Daly, CEO of The Creative Coalition. “The arts are not a luxury item and should not be viewed as something extra or marginal. Rather, the arts are part of America’s cultural and economic core. Exposure to the arts not only creates opportunities for individuals to connect with themselves and others but also fosters skills necessary for innovation and critical thinking.”
“The Creative Coalition thanks supporters of the arts in Congress for standing firm on maintaining NEA funding at $207 million, recognizing its proven return on investment and its role in strengthening communities from coast to coast,” said Robin Bronk, CEO of The Creative Coalition. “While we applaud this outcome, we know detractors of the arts will continue to call for spending cuts and termination of the program. The Creative Coalition and our members remain committed to defending the Right to Bear Arts b y working with allies in Congress from both parties to safeguard this essential investment in our nation’s economic growth, education, and national pride.”
