TCC Takes Home Four Anthem Awards

March 2, 2022 (NEW YORK, NY) – The Creative Coalition took home four Anthem Awards, the Webby Awards’ newest initiative honoring “impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities.” The Creative Coalition was recognized for three outstanding PSA campaigns: educating and inspiring audiences about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines; the obesity epidemic; and getting out the vote. TCC’s work was selected from a highly competitive pool of submissions, consisting of nearly 2,500 entries from 36 countries worldwide.

“Driving impact through creativity is the heart of our work and mission,” said The Creative Coalition President, actor Tim Daly. “We’re proud that the Anthem Awards recognized The Creative Coalition’s PSAs that aimed to transform the way people take care of themselves and each other.”

The Creative Coalition’s “Be There. This Is Your Shot” PSAs were developed by iconic advertising legend Allen Kay (“If you see something, say something”). The PSAs were written by Chris Bessounian (“The Resident”), Zoanne Clack (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Jacque Cofer (“The Wonder Years”), Chad Gomez Creasey (“NCIS: New Orleans”), Mark Goffman (“Umbrella Academy”), Lindsay Goffman (“The Good Doctor”), Daniela Lamas (“The Resident”), and Tianna Langham (“The Resident”). Select versions of the PSAs are available in English and Spanish.

The Creative Coalition’s “Artists Using Their Voices: COVID-19 and Obesity” PSA was written and directed by Stephen Kessler and executive produced by Lesa Lakin, with gracious support from Novo Nordisk Inc.

The Creative Coalition’s “Give a Cluck: VOTE” PSA was directed by LeVar Burton, written by Bill Prady, and produced by Robin Bronk and Tim Daly. Additional credits include production designer David Gallo, editor Jeff Fisher, art director Viveca Gardiner, animator Steve Channon, music by Brian Wayy, audio mixing by Byl Carruthers, production manager Barbara Horvath, and production assistant Rachel Kleinhandler.

“When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we knew we had to tap into The Creative Coalition’s vast network of creators to educate, enlighten, and inspire,” said The Creative Coalition CEO Robin Bronk. “We produce these PSA campaigns by maximizing the power of arts and letters to motivate our citizenry in a positive direction.”

Bronk continued, “We leveraged the creativity of our ranks to help get out the vote in what was undoubtedly one of the most important elections of our lifetime; spread the word about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines; and share resources available to people living with comorbidities like obesity. We thank the Anthem Awards for these distinguished honors.”

“It is our distinct honor to recognize the work that brands, organizations, and individuals are all making to create an impact in their community,” said Jessica Lauretti, Managing Director, The Anthem Awards. “We launched this platform to show the world that all corners of our culture, from sports and entertainment to business leaders and celebrities, are all standing up to say, ‘it is time for systemic change,’ and that social good is what we value as a society.”

Anthem Winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Members include Daniel Dae Kim (Actor, Producer, and Activist); Ashley Judd (Author, Actor, and Social Justice Humanitarian); Mitchell Baker (CEO and Chairwoman, Mozilla); Lisa Sherman (President and CEO, Ad Council), Sarah Kate Ellis (President and CEO, GLAAD); Renata Erlikhman (Chief Investment Officer, OW Management); Shayla Tait (Director of Philanthropy, The Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation); Russlynn Ali (CEO and Co-Founder, XQ Institute); Marc Ecko (Chief Commercial Officer and Board Member, XQ Institute); Heidi Arthur (Chief Campaign Development Officer, Ad Council); and Alexis M.
