The Creative Coalition’s Salute to Arts and Entertainment

Washington D.C. (April 6, 2010) – The Creative Coalition announces its line-up of celebrity arts activists who will be headlining the organization’s upcoming gala event  in Washington, DC – Art & Soul: A Celebration of the American Spirit. The event will take place on Thursday evening, April 29, 2010.

The evening is headlined by actors and Co-Presidents of The Creative Coalition Tim Daly and Dana Delany; actor Adrian Grenier (“Entourage,” The Devil Wears Prada); actor CCH Pounder(Avatar); director Barry Levinson (Poliwood, Wag The Dog); actor Patricia Arquette; actor Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”); actor Omar Epps (“House”); actor Marlon Wayans (White Chicks, Scary Movie); actor Steven Weber (“Brothers & Sisters”); actor Wendie Malick (Confessions of a Shopaholic; “Just Shoot Me”); actor Richard Schiff (A Solitary Man, “The West Wing”); director Spike Lee ( Inside Man, Do The Right Thing), among other performers TBA.  The event is written and produced by multi Emmy® Award-winning producer Tom Fontana (“Oz,” “Homicide:  Life on Street,” “St. Elsewhere”); and chaired by Gianna and Chazz Palminteri.  Hannah Simone chairs the Co-Host Committee with Dan Glickman, Matt Blank, Shari Dexter, Wayne Marshall, Drew Crowder, Hilary Rosen, Michael Wudyka, Edie Kirk, Joel Flatow, and William Pritchett.

Featured performers will also join The Creative Coalition for the organization’s annual Arts Day on the Hill on Friday, April 30th, when they meet with members of the U.S. Congress and Administration to discuss the future of Federal funding for the arts and arts education.
