FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HOLLYWOOD NOTABLES OPEN UP ABOUT CAREGIVING IN CANDID NEW PSA SERIES FROM THE CREATIVE COALITION AND AARP
Directed by Michael Chiklis, Featuring Yvette Nicole Brown, William Stanford Davis and Sami Gayle, the Campaign Illuminates the Emotional Realities Behind One of the Nation’s Most Pressing Issues
Los Angeles, CA (February 3, 2026)– As the nation looks ahead to a new year, The Creative Coalition and AARP are reaffirming a shared commitment to one of America’s most urgent and overlooked challenges: supporting family caregivers with meaningful resources, recognition, and care in 2026 and beyond.
Today, the organizations release “Caring for the Family Caregiver,” an inspiring PSA series that uses the power of Hollywood storytelling to amplify the voices of caregivers and connect families to urgently needed support. The campaign marks a continued investment by AARP and The Creative Coalition in elevating caregiving as a central public issue and ensuring caregivers know help is available year-round.
Check out the PSA series here.
Directed by Emmy and Peabody Award-winner Michael Chiklis (The Senior, Fantastic Four, The Commish), the PSA series features intimate, documentary-style vignettes from acclaimed actors who have personally navigated the complexities of caregiving. The series features Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Black Lady Sketch Show), William Stanford Davis (Abbott Elementary), Sami Gayle (Blue Bloods), and others planned for future release.
AARP’s latest data underscores the scale of the challenge. With now more than 63 million family caregivers in the United States, the need for sustained support is clear. More than 60% of family caregivers report feeling overwhelmed, and more than half say their responsibilities continue to intensify over time, contributing to emotional strain, financial pressure, and feelings of isolation, anxiety, and frustration.
AARP’s latest data underscores the urgency. With now more than 63 million family caregivers in the United States, the need for sustained support is clear. More than 60% of family caregivers report feeling overwhelmed, and more than half (53%) report their responsibilities intensify over time, contributing to emotional strain, financial pressures, and feelings of isolation, anxiety, and frustration.
“Caregiving is one of the most profound acts of love a person can take on, and yet it’s often invisible. I’ve lived versions of that experience myself, and I know how isolating it can be. Directing this series was an opportunity to shine a light on the human truth behind caregiving, the courage, the vulnerability, and the resilience. If these PSAs help even one family feel less alone, then we’ve done something meaningful,” said actor and director, Michael Chiklis.
Each 30-second and 60-second spot blends first-person storytelling with family archives and moments of truth, capturing the quiet resilience, emotional complexity and unseen labor that defines the daily challenges of caregiving. The message across all four spots is simple and urgent: If you are a caregiver, you are not alone. Help is within reach. The campaign’s creative team includes writer Mark Goffman (The Umbrella Academy, Sleepy Hollow, Bull) and producer Jeff Fisher (The Simple Life, Return of the Mac), who collaborated with Chiklis to craft authentic, emotional narratives that honor the complexity of caregiving
“These PSAs deliver what caregivers too rarely receive: dignity, visibility, and validation. As someone who has walked the caregiving path myself, I know firsthand that supporting family caregivers isn’t just important, it’s essential,” said Tim Daly, President of The Creative Coalition. “The arts have an unparalleled ability to illuminate the human experience, and this campaign uses that power to let caregivers know they are seen, heard, and valued. If you are caring for a loved one, your experience matters and help is here.”
“Caregivers hold our families together, often at enormous personal cost,” said Robin Bronk, CEO of The Creative Coalition. “The Creative Coalition and our members are uniquely suited to serve as powerful messengers for this effort, trusted voices who can elevate these stories with authenticity and reach. Through this PSA campaign, we’re honoring caregivers’ experiences and connecting them to the resources and support they deserve.”
“We want every caregiver to know we see and hear them – the mental, emotional and physical load they carry is significant, and our focus is on providing as much support as possible every day,” said Bob Stephen, Vice President of Caregiving and Health Programs at AARP. “This campaign transforms awareness into action, connecting families to free, practical tools and resources that can help immediately. We’re grateful to work with The Creative Coalition to bring extraordinary storytelling, creative leadership, and deep commitment to social impact to this project. This effort reminds us of the transformative power of the arts to amplify voices, spark understanding, and connect people when it matters most.”

Arts, Advocacy and a Rising Cultural Conversation
The PSA series is the latest milestone in The Creative Coalition’s expanding national campaign to elevate caregiving through storytelling. The Creative Coalition’s Entertainment Industry Commission on Family Caregiving is a national, multi-year initiative that mobilizes leaders from across film, television, music, theater, and digital media to elevate one of the most urgent and overlooked issues facing American families. Through storytelling, research-driven campaigns, and strategic partnerships—including its collaboration with AARP—the Commission harnesses the influence and visibility of the entertainment community to destigmatize caregiving, spotlight the emotional and economic realities faced by millions, and champion solutions that support families nationwide.
Earlier this year at the Tribeca Festival, The Creative Coalition and AARP supported The Best You Can, a caregiving-centered film directed by Kyra Sedgwick, who received the organization’s 2025 Humanitarian Award for her leadership in advancing this conversation nationwide. Across Hollywood, policymaking circles and family communities, a cultural shift is taking hold: caregiving is no longer a private struggle, it is a defining American story.
