Hollywood Comes to Washington to Advocate for the Arts

The Creative Coalition Leads Delegation to Capitol Hill to Encourage Arts and Arts Education Funding

Washington, D.C. (April 23, 2008) – On Thursday, April 24th, The Creative Coalition, led by Tim Daly, Lauren Holly, Tyne Daly, Laura Innes, Tim Blake Nelson, Connie Britton, Tom Fontana, Wendie Malick, and Richard Schiff will encourage members of Congress and the White House to support federal funding for the art and arts education.

“President Bush, Democrats and Republicans in Congress, and other policy leaders all realize the exponential value of keeping arts in education. This Congress needs to ‘pay it forward’ by investing necessary funding to keep arts alive in our public schools and throughout communities. It is not just an investment in this generation, it is an intrinsic asset in the future of the United States — the positive impact of the arts in a citizen’s life is vital to a thriving democracy,” said Robin Bronk, Executive Director of The Creative Coalition.

Throughout the day, meetings will be held on Capitol Hill and with White House officials.

The Creative Coalition is dedicated to fighting for the arts and is confident that a swift response to this call to action will be seen.
