Highlights from “At Home With The Creative Coalition” featuring Haley Joel Osment —

On the commercial that caught the eye of the casting director of “Forrest Gump”:
“I did a Pizza Hut commercial, which was randomly seen by the casting director for ‘Forrest Gump.’ And that’s how I got my first real job, off of that commercial.”

On the important skill he learned on the set of “Forrest Gump” at the age of four:
“I learned to tie my shoes on that project. I have memories of learning to tie my shoe for the first time at a hotel in Beaufort, South Carolina. Being on a movie set is always a crazy place to be. I had my costume fitting at the same time as Gary Sinise, and I remember us walking through this vast warehouse space with all the uniforms they were using for the Vietnam sequence. It blows your mind.”

On his memories of Tom Hanks on the set of “Forrest Gump”:
“I got really lucky on my first big project getting to watch Tom Hanks at work. And I remember, even at that age, how impressed I was by how focused and how committed he was. That has always made a really big impression on me.”

On the challenge of joining the cast of “Entourage”:
“It’s such a weird thing going into this established set of characters everybody knows and loves. And my role, essentially in that movie, was to be a huge asshole to everybody in every scene […] Every scene in that movie is like a party at some amazing house in Palos Verdes so we had a good time.”

On the upcoming season of “Goliath”:
“I’m in Season 4 of ‘Goliath’ with Billy Bob, who’s amazing and who played my dad on ‘Entourage,’ which was a joy. I play J.K. Simmons’ son and we’re in a pharmaceutical company that Billy gets tangled up with. And we just started shooting it.”
