As childrenā€™s media use continues to increase, all youth would benefit from seeing healthy and positive messages about girls and women. Girls in particular struggle throughout their lives with how to reconcile the images of girls and women portrayed in the media with their own body image, self worth and potential.

Join Keynote Speaker, Academy AwardĀ® winner and long-time advocate for women and girls, Geena Davis, in a conversation about ways to promote healthy images and media literacy. Davis is the founder of the non-profit,Ā The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, and its programming arm See Jane, which engages film and television creators to dramatically increase the percentages of female characters.

The Creative Coalition, Girl Scouts of the USA, the National Association of Broadcasters, and the National Cable and Telecommunications Association believe every child deserves to live in an environment that fosters confidence and character. We recognize that as childrenā€™s media use continues to increase, all youth would benefit from experiencing healthy and positive messages about girls and women, and tools such as media literacy education, public education and career exploration can be invaluable to young people.
