Fifth Annual World Poker Tour Invitational Benefits The Creative Coalition
LOS ANGELES (March 5, 2007) –Tonight marks the final round of the 5th Annual WORLD POKER TOUR® Invitational benefiting The Creative Coalition. Nick Cassavetes (Alpha Dog, The Notebook) and Glenn Morshower (“24”, All The Kings Men, Striking Range), brought to the tournament by The Creative Coalition, held their own against many of poker’s top pros and earned seats at the final table.
The first round of 5th Annual WPT Invitational kicked off Saturday night and included in the field of 400 were Vince Vaughn, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Oliver Hudson, James Woods, Don Cheadle, Jason Alexander, Mena Suvari, Pete Sampras, Hank Azaria, Jon Favreau, Tom Everett Scott, Marlon Wayans, Chris Masterson, Laura Prepon, Raven Symone, Morgan Fairchild, Timothy Busfield, Ron Livingston, Dule Hill, Camryn Manheim, Robin Tunney, Ed Asner, Erik Palladino, Bai Ling, Anthony Rapp, Jennifer Tilly, Shanna Moakler, Willie Garson, Frances Fisher, Mekhi Phifer, Maura Tierney, Rex Linn, Ricardo Chavira, Jeffrey Ross and Dwayne Adway.
The Creative Coalition is the leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan social and public advocacy organization of the arts and entertainment community. Founded in 1989 by prominent members of the creative community, The Creative Coalition is dedicated to educating its members on issues of public importance, primarily the First Amendment, public education and arts advocacy.
The red carpet, invitation-only event welcomed Creative Coalition members and poker’s best in the three-day Texas Hold ‘Em tournament for charity, cash and bragging rights. The last celebrity standing in the tournament receives a $10,000 donation to their favorite charity, while the winner of the tournament receives $225,000 in cash and a $25,000 seat in the WPT World Championship in April, 2007 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Additionally, the WPT will donate $10,000 to The Creative Coalition.
