Call to Action: Protect NEA 2027

Protect the National Endowment for the Arts • FY2027

Why This Matters
The federal appropriations process has stalled, leaving FY2027 funding for the National Endowment for the Arts uncertain. The House has proposed cutting NEA funding by 36 percent—from $207 million to $135 million—while the Senate has yet to act. This debate comes during America250, when the NEA is helping communities nationwide celebrate our shared history through local arts programming.

What You Can Do Today
1. Call Congress
Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and urge your Senators and Representatives to support full NEA funding at $207 million.
2. Connect It to America250
Remind congressional offices that cutting the NEA means reducing local storytelling, public art, community theater, and arts education during the nation’s 250th anniversary.
3. Amplify the Message
Share The Creative Coalition’s Anthem Award-winning PSA “The Arts Are America’s HeARTbeat” and use #RightToBearArts and #SaveTheNEA.
4. Stay Engaged
This fight will continue through the fall and into the lame-duck session. Continued advocacy will be essential.
