Variety’s Marc Malkin to Host

August 30, 2023 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – The Creative Coalition today announced the ninth annual Humanitarian Awards Benefit Luncheon Gala, to be held on Thursday afternoon, September 14, 2023 at the La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood. This year’s Honorees include Lena Waithe, Billy Eichner, Pauline Chalamet, Jason Alexander, Wendie Malick, Matt Walsh and Arian Moayed, who will be honored for their work with charitable and social welfare causes. Variety Senior Editor and host of the “Just for Variety” podcast, Marc Malkin, will host the special charity event supporting the arts. The Your Voice Carries Weight Award will be bestowed to Josefina López (CASA 0101, Real Women Have Curves) at the event.

This highly anticipated annual event honors prominent figures in the entertainment industry who use the power of their celebrity for social good.

All proceeds from the special charity event benefit The Creative Coalition’s year-round work to protect and advance the arts. Honorees will be spotlighting their charitable causes including Hillman Grad Mentorship Lab, GLAAD, arts education in California public schools, Return to Freedom, Open Books, and Waterwell.
