Entertainment Leaders Disect 2008 Presidential Election

PARK CITY, UTAH (January 21, 2008) – As the 2008 Presidential elections gain momentum, Poli-Wood, an annual industry dialogue and dinner, has become one of the most anticipated events during this year’s Film Festival in Park City.  Sponsored by The Creative Coalition, the entertainment community’s preeminent public advocacy and education nonpartisan nonprofit, the Poli-wood dinner has drawn luminaries from the media, entertainment, arts, business and policy worlds since its inception. The focus of the dialogue this year will be the intersection of Hollywood and Politics during this Presidential Election season.

Leading the dialogue will be Senator Mike Gravel, MPAA Chair Dan Glickman, Tim Daly, Richard Schiff, CNBC correspondent Julia Boorstin, CNBC Editor Dennia Kneale, The New Republicmagazine, Silvercup Studios and John Paul Dejoria CEO of Paul Mitchell, .  Moderated by Lawrence O’Donnell, Jr. (The West WingThe McLaughlin Group, MSNBC Senior Policy Analyst), the dialogue will be followed by a seated dinner at the Hollywood Life House (692 Main St.; Park City).

Robin Bronk, Executive Director of The Creative Coalition, heralded the event as, “An interactive forum for understanding how entertainment converges with politics. The films we produce often affect the public’s dialogue which, in turn, contributes to public policy. The Poli-wood conversation is important as it recognizes how we as individuals and industry leaders might influence who will be in the White House in 2008.”
