New York City – The Creative Coalition announces its fall gala benefit, Seconding the First™, a celebration of the First Amendment through performances of an astonishing array of music and material that has been censored, contested or compromised.

Seconding the First™ will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Tuesday evening, October 29, 2002. Outspoken singer/songwriter Elvis Costello, whose career spans more than twenty years, will join William Baldwin, Lou Reed, Christopher Reeve, Danny Glover, Bebe Neuwirth, Matthew Modine, Cynthia Nixon and many others in headlining this event.
