  • Washington, DC (August 2, 2010) - The Hill newspaper will add The Creative Coalition CEO Robin Bronk to its ranks of top political commentators this week. Starting Wednesday, August 4, Bronk will pen a weekly piece titled “My 5 Minutes with the President,” in which she asks leading members of the entertainment community, “If you had five minutes in the Oval Office with President Obama, what would you discuss with him?”   more

  • Los Angeles, CA (June 28, 2010) -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver joined the California Arts Council , The Creative Coalition and artists from across the state to launch the “Million Plates Campaign for the Arts,” a campaign dedicated to raising money to fund the California Arts Council’s hundreds of programs across the state.  more

  • New York, NY (June 24, 2010) – Actress Gloria Reuben and Newsweek's Howard Fineman host The Creative Coalition's Spotlight Initiative sneak preview of director David Van Taylor’s acclaimed documentary, Advise & Dissent. The event will be held on Thursday evening, June 24th, at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. A dialogue event moderated by Mr. Fineman on the film and Elena Kagan’s confirmation process will follow.  more

  • Washington D.C. (May 11, 2010) – The White House will dispatch Cabinet Secretaries Arne Duncan and Steven Chu, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra as well as a half-dozen other officials to schools throughout Washington D.C. to participate in National Lab Day activities over three days this week.  Talent from The Creative Coalition will also participate alongside experts, students and teachers at schools in the city.   more

  • New York, NY  (May 5, 2010) – Today, New York City Public Schools Chancellor Joel Klein; the Obama Administration’s Deputy Chief Technology Officer Beth Noveck; The Creative Coalition Co-President and actor Tim Daly (“Private Practice”); actress Andrea Bowen (“Desperate Housewives”); and National Lab Day Chairman Jack Hidary joined at East Side Community High School in New York to showcase one of the thousands of classroom projects underway in schools across America as part of National Lab Day (NLD).   more

Each Spotlight Initiative event with The Learning Annex will include a Q & A session with the film’s principals. (April 30, 2010) – Today members of The Creative Coalition partnered with National Lab Day (NLD) for a Congressional luncheon to bring attention to the need for student-learning through discovery and exploration, particularly in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office sponsored the event which was held at the Capitol Visitor’s Center.  more

  • New York, NY (February 2, 2010):  Today, The Creative Coalition expressed its disappointment with President Obama’s proposed cuts to federal funding for the arts and humanities.  The Administration’s newly released budget blueprint for Fiscal Year 2011 calls for $6.2 million in cuts to each the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.  more
