The
Creative Coalition Sings For The Arts
Los Angeles, CA (March 2, 2010):
Beginning Thursday, members of The Creative Coalition
will break out tap shoes, guitars and kazoos to sing
their versions of the A-B-C's, as part of a PSA campaign
to promote arts in education.
The PSA will be directed by actor and
Co-President of The Creative Coalition, Tim Daly; and
will premiere in Washington, DC during The Creative
Coalition's Arts Advocacy Day in April.
Leading artists from music, film, and television will
participate in the PSA that will be distributed for
broadcast, through the Internet, and to local and state
arts advocacy organizations.
"As citizens, we all have a
responsibility to use our voices to remind the public
and our government of how crucial arts are to our
children's education. As artists, we have a unique
platform to get our voices heard. This PSA is our
rallying cry to help ensure that the next generation of
Americans not be forgotten,” said Mr. Daly.
"Recently President Obama proposed a
$6.2 million budget cut from both the National Endowment
for The Arts, and the National Endowment for
Humanities," said Executive Director of The Creative
Coalition Robin Bronk. "There has never been a more
urgent time for members of the creative community to
stand up, and speak out for the arts."
