Internships

The Creative Coalition (TCC) offers unpaid internships to students who are currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary educational institution completing coursework toward a degree or diploma. Interns do not receive monetary compensation but are reimbursed for commuting expenses within the New York City tristate area. Applicants should have experience or working knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • Communication, such as dealing with the press on events and programs
  • Journalism, such as working on a newspaper or magazine
  • Public Relations, such as developing newsletters, press releases and press kits
  • Politics, such as working on a political or charitable campaign
  • Public Policy, such as community service or volunteerism

Interns are exposed to TCC’s programs and administrative activities, including but not limited to:

  • Research into social and political issues ranging from First Amendment rights and arts advocacy to children’s education and campaign finance reform
  • Relationship building with foundations and the media
  • Event planning and execution
  • Membership relations
  • Document preparation for the membership, public and/or media
  • General business communications and office organization

Internship applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be familiar with the Microsoft suite of Office products. Internships are generally available during standard fall and spring academic semesters, and over the summer, with a maximum of 3 days per calendar week and a maximum of 20 hours during those 3 days offered. TCC will assist the Intern with any academic credit requirements from their educational institution.
